UAEU Students Participate in "BP’s Young Adventurers Camp”

 

A group of students representing the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) participated in a 3 days camp sponsored by "BP Oil Company" in Dibba. BP International Company is keen on organizing such camps for school and university students in the Gulf region to strengthen their existing relationship with the Gulf community.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb, Dean of Students at UAEU, stated,  "These camps offer a beneficial and interesting experience that helps to develop the characteristics and personalities of our students through practising the camp values such as safety, security and teamwork, along with learning the importance of respecting others, nature, resources and facilities."

The participating students expressed their enthusiasm and excitement in being involved. Mr. Ahmed Husain Murad Al Blooshi, student, said, "I'm fond of learning new skills and meeting new people which is what this camp has provided me with. The camp life was based on discipline, responsibility as well as building new relations with students from other universities around the Gulf."

Describing his participation, Mr. Shaheen Ismail Baniyas, student, said, "The camp included a variety of activities that involved creativity, problem solving, climbing, swimming, life-saving lessons, mountain biking, rowing, raft building as well as trip on Boom’s traditional sailing vessel to one of the Omani beaches. It was a unique and rewarding experience for me." Student are only allowed to participate once during their academic studies at UAEU.
