H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed visits UAEU stand at IDEX

H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) commended the visit and support of H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the University stand at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX). Dr. Al Noaimi expressed the appreciation of UAEU's students and staff for this visit and the infinite support for student projects.

H.E. UAEU Vice Chancellor said, "UAEU, as a government academic institution, is committed to participating in national events. Our students have been showcasing their projects and talents at this exhibition since its inception. This year, the level of participation and attendance at this event has escalated with the attendance of more than 80,000 visitors in addition to more than 1,200 companies from 59 countries displaying their biggest deals for the region"

Dr. Ali Noaimi valued the visit and interaction of Their Highness Sheikhs with the UAEU students projects at their stand and their continuous support for students creativity.

"As we witness this distinguished success of UAEU students, we value the role of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAEU Chancellor, who provides continuous support and encouragement to the students of UAEU and expresses a keen interest in their projects and achievements, he added.”

UAEU displayed group projects at the exhibition in the fields of Engineering, Energy and Information Technology. A group of female students displayed four and six engine Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAV).  They commented that IDEX gave them the chance to show the world the abilities of Emirati students in the fields of defence and civil industries as well as providing students with an overview of the job opportunities available in this field. The second project on display involved solar energy production and was created by two students from the College of Engineering who expressed their appreciation to UAEU for being given an opportunity to participate at such an important exhibition. The third project involved location detection of people inside buildings and health condition for individuals in terms of temperature, heart pulses and breathing and was presented by students from the College of Information Technology in addition to other good projects which gained visitors admiration.
