US Northern Michigan University Visits UAEU
H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) met at the new University campus a delegation from Northern Michigan University (NMU), USA chaired by Dr. David Haynes, NMU President. The purpose of their visit was to explore the University experience, in particular its scientific and humanities departments and research studies. The meeting was attended by Prof. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, UAEU Provost and Chief Academic Officer.
The Vice Chancellor commenced the meeting by commending the important role of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAEU Chancellor, in supporting and developing the higher education and scientific research in UAE. The significant progress witnessed in the level of higher education and the great interest in the fields of scientific studies, research and delegation is attributed to H.H. vision and continous directives in this regard.
Dr. Al Noaimi briefed the visiting delegation about the history of UAEU and its development stages to achieve this advanced standing. He explained, "UAEU hosts a substantial percentage of international students and faculty members at the University aims to recruit scientific competent cadres to elevate the level of education and training provided for students."
Dr. David Haynes, NMU President, praised the academic and technological level of UAEU, the development of the curriculum and activities in the fields of scientific research and studies as well as the continuous progress of UAEU in the international ranking. He also expressed his enthusiasm towards a mutual cooperation between the two universities in scientific, academic and delegations exchange in the future.
The visiting delegation toured the new campus and visited the university’s unparalleled facilities, including the library and laboratories.
