UAEU Develops Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Thailand

A delegation from Prince of Songkla University in Thailand visited United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) to explore the University’s scientific research and academic programs and to discuss the opportunities available to host Thai students at UAEU for study and research.

H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, UAEU Vice Chancellor, commenced the meeting by explaining the important role that UAEU plays in the field of higher education in UAE and the significant advancements made in research by the University which has contributed both regionally and globally. He indicated that the prestigious status which the University achieved is a result of the effort and directives of H.H. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAEU Chancellor, who leads the higher education contingent in UAE.

Dr. Ali Noaimi added, "UAEU has a group of partnership with international pioneer universities based on scientific, academic and students exchange relationships where both parties benefit from expertise exchange. I welcome this mutual cooperation with this prestigious international university, which will further enhance the educational experience of students and faculty and contribute to the development of the economy."

Prof. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, UAEU Provost and Chief Academic Officer, commented, "UAEU hosts international students from around the world and they currently occupy 15% of UAEU students. The University is known to offer the highest quality academic programs which are on par with international standards. In addition, the University has established a number of scientific and cultural centers where graduates of UAEU can contribute effectively in the field of community service and development."

Dr. Chusak Limsakul, President of Prince of Songkla University, expressed his appreciation for UAEU’s hospitality, commending the scientific status of the University. "We represent the oldest public university established in South Thailand which was established at 1967, hosting 60,000 students and has 160 Bachelors Programs, 100 Masters Programs, 60 Doctorate Programs in addition to more than 2,000 faculty members. We are pleased to be partners with an advanced research intensive university and for our students to study and benefit from the technological and scientific development available at UAEU."
