UAEU develops 1st microchip in the UAE: UAEU first microchip - Read more
Emirates Foundation Science & Technology Awards: UAEU wins 42 out of 55 Emirates Foundation research grant awards. The awards were received by the UAEU faculty members at the Emirates Foundation "Science, Technology & Environment Research Grant Awards" event on November 29, 2010, in Abu Dhabi. Each grant is up to AED 200,000 and will be distributed over 2 years. Research fields for the grant awards include Science, Technology, Engineering, IT, Food & Agriculture, Medicine and Health studies. See Emirates Foundation press release.
UAEU Research Grant Awards: UAEU has awarded research grants to 37 faculty members for research in the areas of national importance. Research fields for these funded projects include Medicine, Science, Engineering, IT, Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences. UAEU Graduate Programs: The number of admitted Ph.D. students has grown to 86 after the Spring 2011 intake. UAEU has launched 5 new Masters and specialized programs in 2010. Seven more Masters programs are in the review process.
UAEU Ranking: UAEU is ranked as the number 1 Research University in the GCC; number 2 in the Arab World; 9th in the Muslim World and 372 globally. UAEU's partnerships with institutions and scholars around the world bring an additional level of excellence to the university's research output.
Research Funding: Over 150 research projects were commissioned and funded (between 2009-2010), at a total value of over 50 million Dirhams. Over 12 million Dirhams budgeted for research funding.
UAEU moves towards research excellence as it continues to expand its graduate programs, build research institutes and offer more research opportunities for its faculty, students and the nation.

UAEU Education and Research 2011: UAEU held the UAEU Education and Research 2011 event on March 6, 2011 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. This event was attended by a number of senior high officials from UAE government and highlighted UAEU's efforts in creating new capabilities and knowledge that contributed to building a more diverse knowledge-based economy and a healthy, educated, well-managed and safe society.
